Red face

Those of you with a score card at home will remember that Trav used to raise and show cats. Prize winning Maine Coons, to be exact.

We lost Chris in January, 2002, and GL was kind enough to deal with my hysterical self when Tex had to be put down in July of the same year.

Last August a stray kitten showed up. He claimed our house as his, and Jack (a mackeral tabby) has pretty much ruled the roost since then.

Being the sucker that I am, I've been feeding a stray blue. (To the normal eye, it looks like grey, but Trav assures me that the color is blue.) And then came the red, which to the normal eye looks like orange.

Trav WANTS the red. In honor of my former car, I'm calling him Mr. Rocket. He just needs to come back, and he will find himself in a carrier in my car on the way to Dr. Bob's.

Oddly enough, I think it was Pina who recommended Dr. Bob.

After we find out if he has feline leukemia, it will be shots, then balls and claws, and a fun filled week of keeping the cats separated.

My life is so much fun.

Note to GL and Reason. Do NOT argue on this thread. PERIOD.

Note to Reason. The cats are fed only organic food.

I won't. I promised myself not to feed his sickness anymore and I am ignoring him for the most part.

A stray cat that looks exactly like the one I used to have has shown up lately. He isn't afraid of the dogs and goes right up to them. Not taking him in! No. Uh-uh. Actually every cat in the neighborhood seems to find his way to my yard and goes right up to me like they know I can be trusted. When I first put in my fountain back in the spring several of them were fascinated by it being lit up at night and they congregated next to it just looking at the spray. It would have made a really cool photo.

I have a nine month old purebred Maine Coon cat named Catherine. ("Cat" for short)

She is the sweetest cat. She puts up with being carried around by a 7 year old, just puts up with it and licks him on the face and purrs. She craves affection. She is beautiful and soft.

Thing with Maine Coons is that they don't know they are cats. I think they are under the impression they are dogs.
